Actress Mona Singh became a household name after her work in ‘Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin.’ She was adored by the audience for her portrayal of Jassi. Over the years, she has become of the most versatile actresses of her generation. Having worked tirelessly in Bollywood as well as television and OTT industries, she is currently gearing up for the release of her horror-comedy Munjya. During a recent media interaction, she opened up about the paparazzi culture and slammed the shutterbags for clicking videos of actresses from inappropriate angles. 

Talking to News18 about it, Mona spoke about the paparazzi’s growing menace and stated that it is just a ‘gendered thing’. She expressed how women should come together and raise their voice against such practices. The Laal Singh Chadha actress explained that she often sees photos and videos of herself and other actress, clicked during events. She shared how the paps seem to wait for a malfunction so that they can capture sensational videos. She said, “I think every woman actor should stand up and raise their voice against it. It’s really not cool what they do. The 42-year-old actress also questioned why paparazzi never behave like this with male actors. She claimed that they only want to focus on “women’s bodies inappropriately.” The 3 Idiots actor further asked, “Will they do this to a man by zooming into their crotch when they’re walking?” ALSO READ: DID YOU KNOW? This is not the first time, an actress has stood up to the paparazzi and called them out for clicking actress’ photos and videos inappropriately. Until now actresses like Janhvi Kapoor, Mrunal Thakur, Palak Tiwari, and others have often schooled the paparazzi and requested them to not click their back videos. 

On the work front, Mona Singh’s upcoming film Munjya, also stars Abhay Verma and Sharvari Wagh in lead roles. The Aditya Sarpotdar directorial is the fourth horror-comedy film in the Maddock Supernatural Universe after Stree, Roohi, and Bhediya. The film will be releasing on June 7, 2024.
